Outdoor Learning
We love learning outdoors as much as we possibly can - not only for PE and Science lessons, but for all of our subjects!

Our Outdoor Curriculum
All of our children have the chance to go on Fell Walks in the Lake District as well as experience outdoor adventure activities in Coniston - from rafting to abseiling, from kayaking to ghyll scrambling. As well as this we provide lots of opportunities to use our local area for outdoor learning including Heysham Nature Reserve, the local beach at Half Moon Bay and the local woodlands and walks. On top of all of this we also have our very own Outdoor Classroom where we have the chance to have lessons outside with nature around us, as well as using our Nature Woodland Walk on the school site. All of the children have these experiences as they move through our school - from Nursery to Year 6 - and we know how much it improves their learning and their enjoyment of finding out new things. Here are a few photographs of some of the activities we have been involved in.
